It’s fully dark now as you arrive at the cabin. You can’t see far into the surrounding area, but the cabin does look nice. It’s cold inside, but not too bad, and the woodstove will surely help. Once you bring everything inside, you take some firewood and open the stove door.
The fire is stubborn. Maybe the firewood is wet, maybe you just don’t have enough kindling. You use match after match, and a lot of newspaper. It still doesn’t work. Do you give up and use the camp stove you brought to just heat up some food? Or do you keep trying?
