You wait by the side of the road. After a while, you decide to go back in the car as the wind is getting colder. Luckily you followed the classic winter driving advice and have blankets, some food, and water. After a while you think to go outside and set some branches across the road to signal other drivers to stop. Having done so, you get back inside to wait.
After some time, you hear a truck coming to a stop, and walk up the hill. The truck just idles in front of the branches placed across the road, and you notice the sealed-up windows of an automated vehicle. After about two minutes it gives a quick two-tone honk. It does the same after about four minutes, and then accelerates forward soon after, leaving you still waiting on the shoulder.
The rest of the weekend was pretty uneventful.
