While you were eating in the diner, it seems the weather has worsened, and strong snowfall is blowing in. As you guide the car around a turn, the car beeps and pings, and all the dashboard lights go out at once. Right before your eyes, the car slides towards the edge of the narrow road. You yank the wheel but it seems disconnected from the steering system, and turns uselessly. You slam the brakes, which likewise do nothing. The car leaves the road completely and hits a small tree, deflecting it backwards, and it bounces against a few more while sliding downhill before coming to a stop. You crack the door and climb out.
It doesn’t seem particularly damaged from the outside, but it’s clear that the car is not going to be able to be driven back up the hillside for a number of reasons. The steep grade is a big issue. Also, the pinging and beeping hasn’t stopped, and none of the controls seem to be working. Finally, the car is wedged in between some trees and sort of dug into the snow and dirt.
You try to call the police, but your phone has no service here.
